This will help if you’re struggling with perfectionism.
I don’t know if you struggle with perfectionism like I do. But if there’s one thing I do know, it’s that Yah’s Word is always true. Any time I’m struggling with a topic in my life, that’s where I go for answers. So today I want to meditate on the topic of perfectionism, and share The Scriptures I went over with you – just in case perfectionism is something that you struggle with too. If it is, let me know in the comments below.
Perfectionism has so many layers. The idea that we can be perfect in our own strength, by doing all the right things, or saying all the things that other people want to hear – I believe all of that is rooted in pride. Pride is another topic that I’m trying to be more conscious of as well.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the esteem of Elohim.”
Romans 3:23
Day by day, perfectionism is something I’m learning to let go of, so that I can learn to fully rely on our Messiah, Yahusha. I have to keep the idea of reliance on YAH instead of relying on SELF front and center – especially while working on music.
In the latest video on my music channel, I open up my music-making world for you to see. That’s a new thing for me. I know everything wasn’t perfect in that video. But through Yahusha we can do all things, including allowing ourselves to be more vulnerable when appropriate. The journey of me sharing my life more openly in order to inspire others will definitely continue. I pray it will continue to make an impact, and encourage others to be creative as well.
Let’s all continue learning to be more open. Especially with the people we encounter day to day. None of us are perfect, so let’s be more honest and authentic. Let’s not take ourselves too seriously, or think, even for one minute, that we can live a life that is pleasing to Yahuah without HIS power. For ALL have sinned and fallen short of the esteem of Yahuah.
Hopefully this week’s scripture meditation (below) will help you if you’re struggling with perfectionism. By the end, I hope the big picture of what scripture says on this topic will be made clear, and remind you to keep looking up to The Most High.
Let’s Meditate on The Scriptures
You can watch the video, or follow along with the scriptures quoted below.
They’re quoted from TS2009 unless otherwise noted.
“Many are the plans in a man’s heart, But it is the counsel of יהוה that stands.”
Proverbs 19:21
“For there is not a righteous man on earth who does good and does not sin.”
Ecclesiastes 7:20
“If we say that we have no sin, we are misleading ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is trustworthy and righteous to forgive us the sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us.”
1 John 1:8-10
“And all of us have become as one unclean, and all our righteousnesses are as soiled rags. And all of us fade like a leaf, and our crookednesses, like the wind, have taken us away.”
Isaiah 64:6
“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of Elohim.”
2 Corinthians 5:21
“But without belief it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to Elohim has to believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who earnestly seek Him.”
Hebrews 11:6
“Not that I have already received, or already been perfected, but I press on, to lay hold of that for which Messiah יהושע has also laid hold of me. Brothers, I do not count myself to have laid hold of it yet, but only this: forgetting what is behind and reaching out for what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of Elohim in Messiah יהושע.”
Philippians 3:12-14
“Therefore, be perfect, as your Father in the heavens is perfect.”
Matthew 5:48
“And He said to me, “My favour is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, then, I shall rather boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Messiah rests on me.”
2 Corinthians 12:9
“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you prove what is that good and well-pleasing and perfect desire of Elohim.”
Romans 12:2
“for all have sinned and fall short of the esteem of Elohim,”
Romans 3:23
“For by favour you have been saved, through belief, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of Elohim, it is not by works, so that no one should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Messiah יהושע unto good works, which Elohim prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
Ephesians 2:8-10
“If Your Torah had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction. Let me never forget Your orders, For by them You have given me life.”
Psalms 119:92-93
“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not fight according to the flesh. For the weapons we fight with are not fleshly but mighty in Elohim for overthrowing strongholds, overthrowing reasonings and every high matter that exalts itself against the knowledge of Elohim, taking captive every thought to make it obedient to the Messiah, and being ready to punish all disobedience, when your obedience is complete.”
2 Corinthians 10:3-6
“I greatly rejoice in יהוה, my being exults in my Elohim. For He has put garments of deliverance on me, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.”
Isaiah 61:10
“And having been perfected, He became the Causer of everlasting deliverance to all those obeying Him,”
Hebrews 5:9
“I have strength to do all, through Messiah who empowers me.”
Philippians 4:13

This was needed for me to read. Thank you for listening to YaHUaH and bringing it to us.
Praise Yahuah Lesleigh, Yah bless you ❤️
Man cannot do it alone! Amen!
My career as a machinist for 25 years required that I be a perfectionist. My current career as an Engineer for the past 7 years required that I be a perfectionist even more😳
This mindset lined up well with my understanding of Yah’s expectations of us according to His Word. However, we must be realistic and honest with ourselves – we cannot do it alone. We are to strive for perfection knowing that we will never attain it. This is how we improve continually. And, it is good! Yah is good.
Thank you so much for your humbleness as a very talented musician. Your work is much appreciated H!
Love love love this, Brother 👆🏾Yah is so good. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. May Yah continue to bless you, Bob 😌 Let’s keep on looking up!!
Shalom everyone. Bless you Hadarah. The scriptures you presented helps me to be less stress. I suffer with perfection and I stressed from it. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. Yah knows what we need and you are the right spiritual vesssel for him to use at a time such as this. When I am feeling stress about something, I can look back at the scriptures. Todah, Hadarah. Peace and blessings be with you.
Praise Yahuah, that’s beautiful Sariyah 😌 I’m really glad you’re feeling less stressed.
Shalum Sis! 🤗❤️
Perfection as I understand it from scripture is to become complete in Yahuwah, and his Holy Spirit helps us to mature and grow in Him. His joy is to see us come to his perfection by walking in righteousness, through repentance, being steadfast in his truth, and to see the Fruit of the Spirit growing and flowing within us – love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. We’re being perfected daily.
Your song, Let This Mind Be in You, helps me to become more perfected in Yahuwah as I develop the mind of the Mashiyach more and more through my trials and tests.
Love that Sis Kim! Thanks for sharing 😌 we’re being perfected daily ❤️ HallaluYah!
Wow Kim – Very well said!!! Yah bless y’all!

Thank you for being obedient to Yah and sharing ❤️. That’s what I’m working on, trying to be obedient. Not just a hearer of his word but a doer of his word. HalleluYah
That’s beautiful Sis Eloise ❤️😌 praise Yahuah.
I use to have a huge problem with perfectionism. I expected far to much from myself. The wonderful thing is over the years I have been wonderfully delivered from this thing that controlled me for the most part of my life. Yadah Yahuah, I have been set free.
HallaluYAH Sis!! That’s beautiful. All praise to Yahuah Most High!!
