Too many of us come into the Hebrew Roots Movement with a chip on our shoulders. A lot of people come into this walk feeling angry with the Christian church. I understand what it feels like to be hurt by the lies of others – trust me, I do. But carrying a chip on your shoulder for a long time is a very dangerous thing. Not only is it stressful on your body and your mind, but hurt and pain tends to get in the way of a lot of positive things: Love, joy, and peace for example – just to name a few.
If you feel upset about not knowing the truth – angry or hurt about growing up in the midst of lies, remember this: The joy of Yahuah is your strength.
“Do not be sad, for the joy of Yahuah is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10b, The Scriptures
I wrote a song called “So Happy” which was released on my album called “Step Out” back when I was a Christian. I just redid the song in a video for you last night. Added a Hebrew Roots twist so that Yahuah’s name can shine through. I pray this song inspires you to let some things go if you need to. Yahuah wants to give you the fruit of His Spirit so that you can be a shining light to the nations.
I pray the video with music below will inspire you to let go of your cares and be happy, for the joy of Yahuah is your strength.
If you enjoyed the video above, feel free to share it with a friend who needs to be lifted up. Have a wonderful day in Yahuah and His Son Yahusha, Ha Maschiyach.
I’m back already because i’ve got some exciting news to share with you!
I know it’s only been two weeks since the last new song I posted “Singing Praise” But i couldn’t stay away cause I just HAVE to tell you what’s happening!
But before I share the news – how about I share a song? If you’ve had a hard week, hopefully this will help you to feel better. We’re all on a journey, so if you’re as human as I am, this song will be perfect for you.
It’s entitled “Now I Live” and I wrote it YEARS AGO. October 28, 2008 is the first time I posted it on my old “Rochelle Hanson Music” youtube channel. My life was so different then, and I hadn’t learned The Name of Yahuah, so I decided to do a new Hebrew Roots version of the song. The lyrics speak to our journey – and what’s crazy about it is, these lyrics mean even more to me now than they did when I first wrote it back in the Fall of 2008. I hope and pray that the lyrics will be meaningful for you as well.
The scripture passage below is so fitting that I just had to share it with you too.
“And He showed me a river of water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of Alahiym (Elohim), and of the Lamb.” Revelation 22:1
We may not know exactly what tomorrow holds, but we know who holds the future. Oh how I look forward to that great day…. Yesterday is gone, tomorrow will come, so now- I live….. Enjoy the music in the video below.
Now I Live
The Exciting News
Did you hear the news? I’m recording music for you! Going to the studio on July 29th. It’s been YEARS since my last recording so i’m REALLY EXCITED to be able to make music for you now. Especially because I know that some of you have been asking for it!
I know it can be frustrating to only have music in video form, cause that’s not very convenient when you want to listen to it in the car or wherever else you happen to be. So I’ll keep you posted on the progress of it all. Giving all praise to Yahuah because this would NOT be possible AT ALL had he not placed certain people in my life and allowed them to have kindness in their heart to help me get this project out to you! (HUGE SHOUT OUT TO JESSE MANOU!! Thank you SO MUCH JESSEE!!)
The recording is going to be a short EP of 3-5 songs, depending on how much we can accomplish in the time allotted. Yahuah’s will be done!! 😀 If you’re excited about the recording coming out – leave a comment and let me know! And don’t forget to subscribe below so that you can stay connected.
Sometimes I get frustrated with the state of this world.
So much death, so many lies.
So much sickness, so much pain.
I often wonder how much longer things are going to be this way…
I know it won’t be too long….
What saddens me the most is that we as human beings have made the foolish choices that led us to where we are now. The vast majority of problems that we have in the world today exist because of our own choices as a society. And the same is true for the choices we make in our own personal lives. In the original song presented in the music video at the end of this post I propose a solution for us all.
People think that freedommeans “doing things my way.”
Many believe that doing whatever they want is going to help them hold on to their happiness.
But is that really what freedom is? Are we free because we can do whatever we want?
What if what we want is actually no good for us?
Is our zeal to exercise our free will leading us in the right direction?
It seems to me we had this same struggle in the garden of Eden...
Still today, we are struggling with the very same issue.
It all boils down to choices. Is it “my way or the highway?”
Or can I choose to submit my will to Yahuah, and fall in love what what He loves, because of my love for Him?
Do I trust that He knows what’s best for me? Or do I make myself the master of my life and trust my own direction?
In my personal life I’ve come to recognize that every time I try to do things “my way” I can expect the end result to be totally messed up. It’s very humbling when that happens, and it helps me to realize that maybe – just maybe – I don’t have it all figured out….
Maybe I don’t actually know it all….
Maybe, just maybe I need a Saviour (wink wink)
I’ve come to recognize this:
In the beginning Alahiym created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1)
I have nothing to do with my own existence.
I can’t even breathe by myself or through my own will.
It’s Yahuah’s breath of life that’s flowing in and out of me.
There is “One Alahiym and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” Ephesians 4:6
Yahuah has instructions for life
He laid out His instructions in a manual for us, and thankfully we all have access to it. Remember that thing called “The Law” or the “Torah” which many people say is done away with? Those first 5 books of The Bible -which have been categorized as “Old” have more golden wisdom inside than we could ever imagine. The word “Torah” in Hebrew actually means “Instruction” or “Direction.” So if you’re having trouble putting the pieces of your life together, try taking more time to read the instructions.
I don’t know about you…
But I’m SO thankful for Yahuah’s instructions.
The Law is not a burden. It was not “nailed to the cross”. So many people misunderstand Colossians 2:14, which says,
“Blotting out the handwriting of ordinance which was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to the cross.” Colossians 2:14 KJV
That word “handwriting” in Greek is Chieographon which means “bond” or “certificate of debt.” It’s the debt that we owe for sin that was nailed to the tree – not The Law. The price we should pay – the death penalty – THAT is what was taken away. We know that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). So because we are all sinners, we all deserve to die. The favourable gift of everlasting life exists because Yahusha died for us. He died so that we wouldn’t have to die. Not so that we could sin! Where in scripture does it say that Yahusha died so that we would not have to follow His Father’s instructions? He came to show us the Father. Alahiym is one. And if we study the scriptures with understanding, we would see that The Law is liberty, and that the Law is love.
“For this is the love for Alahiym, that we guard His commands, and His commands are not heavy….” 1 John 5:3
“But he that looked into the perfect Torah, that of freedom, and continues in it, not becoming a hearer that forgets, but a doer of work, this one shall be blessed in his doing of the Torah.” James 1:25
“What then? Shall we sin because we are not under Torah but under favour? Let it not be!” Romans 6:15
“If you stay in Me, and My Words stay in you, you shall ask whatever you wish and it shall be done for you. In this My Father is esteemed, that you bear much fruit, and you shall be My taught ones. As the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you. Stay in my love. If you guard my commands, you shall stay in my love.” John 15:8-10
“And ye shall know the truth and the truth will make u free.” John 8:32
Please allow me to point out:
The scriptures quoted above came from the “new testament.”
Isn’t it interesting how they are pointing us back to the “old?”
Emphasizing the law, the commands, the instructions of the Father….
There is unity in the scriptures. Remember what we talked about in the last blog post…..
“There is one Lawgiver and Judge, who is able to save and to destroy.” James 4:12
Since there is only one Lawgiver…
I pray that we will understand that there is only one true Law. There’s not a separate law for those who call themselves Christians, or a separate law for the so called Jews. It’s an everlasting covenant with promises that were passed down from generation to generation. And even though we as a people haven’t kept all our promises, Yahuah has not forgotten HIS promises to us. That’s why he sent His son Yahusha to make a way for us – To teach us and instruct us on how to live and what to do. Our Saviour, Yahusha, did not come to destroy the law or the prophets (Matthew 5:17-20). He came to fulfill- to fill up- what we couldn’t understand. He came to show us who our Heavenly Father really is, and how we can become one with Him.
So let’s walk as Yahusha walked.
Let’s study the scriptures so we can learn to live as He lived. If we would simply choose to follow His instructions, this world would be a much better place. Regardless of the mess that we’re living in right now, I pray the video below will inspire us to sing praise. The lyrics are taken from Psalms 19:7-14 and Psalms 18:2, 3. I’ve posted the main verses that I used in the scripture box below, but I pray that this song will motivate you to spend more time reading the scriptures for yourself.
Click & Read Psalms 19:7-14
“The Law of Yahuah is perfect, converting the soul: The witness of Yahuah is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of Yahuah are right, rejoicing the heart The commandment of Yahuah is pure, enlightening the eyes The fear of Yahuah is clean, enduring for ever The Judgements of Yahuah are true and righteous altogether More to be desired are they than gold, yea than much fine gold Sweeter also than honey, and the honeycomb Also your servant is warned by them, In guarding them there is great reward. Who discerns mistakes? Declare me innocent from those that are secret, Also keep Your servant back from presumptuous one, Do not let them rule over me. Then shall I be perfect and innocent of great transgression. Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart Be pleasing before You Oh Yahuah, my rock and my redeemer.” Psalms 19: 7-14
It amazes me just how much division there is over The Truth. There are reportedly over 41,000 Christian denominations in existence today. Does anyone else think that’s crazy? 41 THOUSAND. WHY??? What baffles me the most is that everyone is reading the same book. Yes there are many different versions of “The Bible” on the market today but for the most part – everyone is reading the same book and yet there are SO many different groups and religions -all of them claiming to have the truth. And it’s not just Christians who have this problem. There are Orthodox Jews, Reformed Jews, Jews for Jesus…. What’s up with that? Every religion is divided.
This is one of the main reasons why I reject religion and embrace teachings that actually follow The Scriptures. In my personal study I’ve come to recognize there is no need for all these religions. Religion is man made. It’s a facade; Rituals and doctrines that make us feel better about ourselves. If we would simply take the time to study and understand that there is unity in the scriptures – from Genesis to Revelation – Our lives would be more meaningful and the world would be a better place.
For all those who love their religion, I ask you to take some time to ask yourself questions about the basics. We claim to have a relationship with our Creator, and we say He is our friend, but why don’t we call Him by His name? A person’s name is the first thing we learn about them when we want to connect in real life. Is there anyone in your life that you have a meaningful relationship with, and you still don’t know their name?
I shared the thoughts below with a few friends on Facebook the other day. There’s an interesting parallel between the two following verses and WHO spoke them, and when….
“If you love me, keep MY commandments.” John 14:15
“And showing mercy to thousands of them who love me, and keep MY commandments.” Exodus 20:6
Notice the connection? The first verse is from what many call The New Testament. We see love, we see commandments, and we see the person speaking saying that they are “MY commandments”. The second verse is from what many call The Old Testament. We see love, we see commandments, and again we see the person speaking saying that they are “MY commandments”. WHO is that person? Do we really know Him?
“There is oneLawgiver and Judge, who is able to save and to destroy…” James 4:12
Think about that for a minute.
There is one Lawgiver and that same Lawgiver is able to save you. Who is your Saviour? Do you really know who He is?
There is unity in the scriptures. We HAVE to study the beginning of the book before we can even BEGIN to understand the ending. Over time we’ll explore more of these ideas together but for now, let’s get to the music. I wrote the song in the video below at the end of April 2014. The Lyrics are based on the verses that surround Deuteronomy 6:4 “Hear, O Yashra’al: Yahuah our Alahiym, Yahuah is one!” You can read the whole passage below, but I do encourage you to spend time in the scriptures on your own.
Click & Read Deuteronomy 6:1-9
“And this is the command, the laws and the right-rulings which Yahuah your Alahiym has commanded, to teach you to do in the land which you are passing over to posses, so that you fear Yahuah your Alahiym, to guard all His laws and His commands which I command you, you and your son and your grandson, all the days of your life, and that your days be prolonged. And you shall hear, O Yashra’al, and shall guard to do, that it might be well with you, and that you increase greatly as Yahuah Alahiym of your fathers has spoken to you, in a land flowing with milk and honey. Hear, O Yashra’al: Yahuah our Alahiym, Yahuah is one! And you shall love Yahuah your Alahiym with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your might. And these Words which I am commanding you today shall be in your heart, and you shall impress them upon your children, and shall speak of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up, and shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates….” Deuteronomy/Debarim 6:1-9
I pray you enjoy listening to the music in the video below. I hope it inspires to you study more scriptures and leads you to draw closer to Yahuah. Your religion can’t save you. Your family can’t save you. Your preachers and your teachers can’t save you either. Come and meet the Lawgiver of Love.
At one point or another, EVERYONE needs help. Regardless of age, gender, talent or level of skill. If you’re human like I am I’m sure you’ll agree, we simply can’t do everything on our own.
When you find yourself in that space: Feeling stuck, or maybe feeling lonely. When you’re hurting, or if you get angry…. What can you do? On whose name can you call?
“Our help is in the Name of Yahuah, Maker of the heavens and earth.” Psalms 124:8
Oh Make Yahuah great with me, and let us exalt His name together.” Psalms 34:3
“I have remembered Your Name in the night, O Yahuah, and I guard Your Torah.” Psalm 119:55
“Oh Yahuah, Your Name is forever, Oh Yahuah, Your remembrance to all generations….” Psalms 135:13
No matter what is happening in your life, you can ALWAYS call on The Name of Yahuah. He hears the prayers of His people and He will answer. You are NOT alone. Open your heart to Yahuah….Trust in His name.
The song in the video below is an original, It’s entitled “My Help.” I wrote it on Shabbat, March 1, 2014 and the lyrics are based on the Psalms shared with you above. I pray this music will inspire you to read more of the scriptures and come a little bit closer to Yahuah. For our help is in The Name of Yahuah.
Hi there, I’m Hadarah Batyah. I sincerely believe that in order to have a spiritual walk that is authentic and true, the Word of Yahuah must be written on the inside of our hearts. That's why I write scripture songs and set apart music. Although I don’t have everything in my spiritual life all figured out, I know that Yahuah gave me the gift of music to serve Him and encourage your heart. I pray you'll be inspired by what you see on this blog. If you're curious and wanna know more- I tell it all on the About Page.
